10 years in prison.. for seeding torrents!

Using bit torrent to share files might save you from “false/junk” files (files uploaded by morons and anti-piracy organizations like the RIAA and MPAA (MAFIAA)… hmm, actually I think they fall into the "morons" category too..) and viruses (because torrent sites are quick to delete infected torrents) but while being one of the safest and most efficient P2P options (despite the crap that the MAFIAA try to spin) to get your favorite files if you are in the US and own a torrent site; you can get up to 10 years in prison, as one poor soul found out today.

26-year-old Daniel Dove has been found guilty by a federal jury on charges of  ”felony copyright infringement as well as conspiracy” for running the site EliteTorrents.com.

Unlike two other administrators (Scott McCausland and Grant Stanley) who pleaded guilty in exchange for lesser sentences Daniel decided to fight… in our opinion; although very courageous a mistake to do so on the MAFIAA’s home turf.

According to sources, based on (most likely flawed) evidence provided mostly by the RIAA / MPAA, America’s Department of Justice (DoJ) and FBI were strangely “exceedingly aggressive” in taking this case down.

Must be nice to have that kind of money and power to make the U.S government, powerful law enforcement agencies like the feds and judges buy your BS to give a 26 year old 10 years in prison for filesharing while murderers, rapists and child molesters get less… while we heard in America justice is blind, its also worth noting that its fu*ked as well.
