"The anti-piracy folks only catch innocents and by accident,
they wouldn't be be able to find breasts in a topless bar... leave alone clever filesharers"

Greetings everyone! As you can see, eZee.se is back and stronger than ever with a new design and site overhaul... except for some bits and ends that need fixing, please excuse us while we work to fix this in the coming days.

Why?

eZee.se is not your regular tech news site (anymore),
We have shifted from writing all our articles ourselves to instead linking to a host of sites and occasionally writing a few original articles ourselves - as time permits.

Why?

Quite simply because the news, as it is, is the the same, but the articles on the various sites like CNet/ Ars/ TechDirt/ Wired etc are their authors take on the news before its presented to the public… and these guys do wonderful job of writing and presenting the news, does the web really need another tech site to write about the same news?

We don't think so, but we do think that.. Continue reading

Pink Floyd Bitch Slap EMI

March 11, 2010 · Leave a Comment

And for the big story of the day… Plenty of sources so we are not going to bore you with what we think (as we covered it a bit earlier as well) but needless to say, we are happy. We are always happy when the artist wins against  scumbags. Lets start with Ars: Court nixes individual track downloads of Pink Floyd albumsIndividual Pink Floyd songs will soon disappear from online music stores. The British High Court has ruled against EMI, the band’s record label, saying that the band’s contract requires EMI to “preserve the artistic integrity of the albums.” In this case,... [Read the full story]

Whats the best way to get everyone to vote for one your pet laws..? well, it kind of depends on the law you want passed by a few good lines that rarely fail: Blah blah blah… global warming… blah blah Blah blah blah… think of the children… blah blah Blah blah blah… or the terrorists win … blah blah Blah blah blah… with us or against us… blah blah Blah blah blah… millions of jobs lost… blah blah Dan (the Joker) Glickman has come up with a good new one “Simply put, those who don’t back the proposed Anti-Counterfeiting and Trade Agreement... [Read the full story]

Two Disturbing Articles About Obama on ACTA

March 11, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Here are two very disturbing articles about Obama on ACTA: The first from TD: Obama: We Must Move Forward On ACTA With the EU Parliament soundly voting against ACTA secrecy and current proposals, lots of folks have been wondering how the US was going to respond. So far, it’s not looking good. The USTR gave a giant no comment, and President Obama (who had been pretty quiet on ACTA himself) addressed ACTA in a speech, where he expressed strong support for continuing to move forward with ACTA. What was telling, however, was how he described ACTA — which is that he used the bogus arguments... [Read the full story]

Politically Motived Trial Dates for ThePirateBay(?)

The site we love and the site big content loves to hate is back in the news with yet another controversy (?). Personally we find the dates a bit too ‘co-incidental’ givens Sweden’s response to the last time the government shoved some extremely unpopular and industry slanted legislation down our throats. We responded by sending two of our reps into the EU Parliament. Sounds like we are at stage three of “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you… then you win” - typical of big content they chose to fight in an underhanded/dirty way using... [Read the full story]

We love Google, heck we can’t name a single day in the past 3 years (or more) that we have not used their search… and we love Youtube, we find ourselves increasingly using the online streaming service instead of downloading pirated content (again, just goes to show: if there are viable alternatives even the most hard core ‘pirates’ see no reason to illegally download) which is the same pattern we noticed once Spotify hit Sweden and we scored ourselves a few free accounts. Back on topic, Google’s much publicized motto has always been (or so they tell us) : Don’t... [Read the full story]

What Next? Rape Victims As Judges?

Leaked documents show that the British recording industry directly had a hand in writing a critical part of a proposed amendment.
